Abstract We present an open-source, gaze-controlled adaptation of the well-known Breakout computer game. In a tournament where 20 subjects took turns playing this game against each other, one using gaze and one using a mouse, we demonstrate that gaze can be a superior input modality. In another experiment, we collected eye movement data from 9 subjects playing this game and find that expert and novice players differ in their employed eye movement strategies.
