Macromedia
Flash is an authoring software; meant to help graphic designers
creating web pages and animations, it has also been used to realize
graphic interfaces for on-line experiments in various research
fields. This latter application is the topic of the present paper,
which examines the potential and actual use of Macromedia Flash
in the psychological field. Its trade-offs will be considered
when used to create interfaces for psychological experiments and
to improve the learning process via the adoption of multimedia
contents and interactive agents. A series of web sites and other
Macromedia Flash resources will be analysed specifying the way
in which a multimedia presentation can outperform more conventional
content.
